Lyrics

My love, my love, once simple and true
We ran on the moors
And gained strength as we grew
You wanting the lark, alone in the sky
I could listen to firework’s exploding all night

But they bolted the locks after shutting the doors
To the birds and the wind and the pull of the moors

You wanted to buy me satins and rings
And I want to love you and learn new things
Am I running towards, or running away?
My pride and reason fighting for space

A cruel handed devil, a blow to the heart
Am I left to suffer as you part?
And I’d burn the house to escape the fire
Of death in the eyes of revenge and desire

Hearing your voice in the driving rain
Alone in my thoughts, but you remain

But they bolted the locks after shutting the doors
To the birds and the wind and the pull of the moors

These desolate hills providing a bed
To sleep or to die as I lay down my head
But the years they pass and souls pass on
Releasing the fear and taking me home
